Ardgarry Memories
In 1962 the coaster 'Ardgarry' went down with all twelve hands aboard in a storm off the Lizard. More than 80 family members of sailors who died when the ship sank recently gathered together to lay a memorial stone at Kilcobben Cove in Cornwall. |

Around a hundred people came together for the first time since the Ardgarry capsized off The Lizard in a ferocious gale in December 1962 with the loss of the whole crew. |

Greencastle man remembered in sea ceremony - The Derry Journal (46) (Sunday, 07 September 2008) A merchant seaman from Greencastle, who died in a sea tragedy off the coast of Cornwall, was remembered this weekend in a moving ceremony there. Members of his family travelled to Cornwall to take part in the commemorations. |
